Taka proposes to Tao

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Taka had asked me if I would like to photograph him proposing to his girlfriend Tao in Huntington Beach.

So of course I said yes!

I’ve known Taka for about a year now, we met through mutual friends, and found out we have a few more mutual friends. Small world huh?

Taka wanted me to take these photos incognito. Good thing Tao never met me, or else she would have known something was up.

I sat on a bench taking pictures of my surroundings when they arrived so I wouldn’t be so obvious when taking pictures of them.

Here they are arriving.

Lets go towards the cliffs to take some pictures.

I’m trying to tell Taka where him and Tao should stand so I get some good facial reactions.

Crap! She’s looking straight at me!

Mom, can you take some pictures for us?

Mom slowly started walking closer and closer to them.

Scoot back! you’re getting too close!

Taking out the ring!

Will you marry me?

Strike a pose!

Putting the ring on.

Yay!

Tao’s mom, Tao, and Taka.

So much happiness.

Reenacting the proposal with a beg.

:)

I’m so glad that everything worked out and I was able to capture this moment for them.

Congratulations on the engagement Taka and Tao!

Sunny and Nik

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

I shot Sunny and Nik’s engagement photos. They are getting married at the end of May this year at the Andaz, formerly known as the Ivy Hotel (I used to work at the Ivy Hotel). I wont be able to go to their wedding because I had prior engagements but I was able to do their engagement shoot.

They wanted more of an urban feel to their shoot so we headed over to Downtown Los Angeles to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Walt Disney Concert Hall and to The Museum of Contemporary Art.

Here they are at the Disney Concert Hall.

Dancing.

Showing off the ring.

You can see a few of the buildings in Downtown Los Angeles.

We then made our way down the street to MOCA.

This was a one try shot. And it worked out well!

A little bit of fun.

I hope you like the photos!

Jae and Denise

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

I had the privilege of doing Jae and Denise’s engagement photos.  They are getting married this year on June 26, 2010.

Jae and Denise got engaged at Disneyland, so they decided to do a few engagement photos there.

If you ever hear their engagement story it’s really cute. Jae put a lot of thought and time into the proposal.

Anyways, here’s some photos!

Jae proposed to Denise while in a boat on the Storybook ride. He had it all pre-planned with Disneyland.

The Peter Pan ride is Denise’s favorite ride.

Jae’s favorite character is Mickey Mouse so we took some photo’s inside of Mickey’s house.

Here they are on Mickey’s couch.

And sitting in front of Mickey’s fireplace.

Here’s Jae playing the Piano for Denise in Mickey’s house.

And here’s a few of the cute couple.

This one is my favorite photo of the day. You can’t really tell they are at Disneyland, but I LOVE it! :)

I’m excited to go the their wedding. The ceremony is going to be a Catholic ceremony at a Catholic church, and then the reception is going to be at… one of the hotels at Disneyland. I believe it’s called the California Grand Hotel.

Doing a shoot in a crowded theme park is definitely a lot more difficult then somewhere more secluded. It’s hard keeping random children and people out of the picture. But hey, nothing in life is easy right? :)

Esther & Daniel Engagement Photos

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Here are photos from Esther and Daniel‘s Engagment shoot.

We did this shoot in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico–Where they are getting married in May.

It was raining the day we planned to do the engagement shoot, so there’s not as much variety as there should be since we had to squeeze in their engagement shoot before we left. But its better to rain when we were there then for their wedding.

Here they are at the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar Golf and Spa Resort just looking out to the rain.

Here they are at the Esperanza Resort where they will be getting married.

And here on the rocks on the beach that is part of the Esperanza Resort.

Writing names in the sand is harder then you think because of all the foot prints.

There will be more photos of the Cabo trip in my next posts. These one’s were just of Esther and Daniel for their engagement pictures.

Christine & Sean

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

I did a Couple’s Shoot with Christine and Sean.

It’s great when you have a fun couple to work with, who are up for anything.

We started our shoot in Venice on Abbot Kinney and then took a drive to the park to play on the playground.
