Christmas Card Lane 2011 — San Diego, CA

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

If you’re from Rancho Penasquitos, you’ve have to have been to Christmas Card Lane at least once in your life. And if you’re from San Diego, you’ve probably heard of it.

What is Christmas Card Lane? It’s a neighborhood in Rancho Penasquitos (in San Diego, CA) where almost all the houses in the neighborhood are decorated.

I remember in elementary school, we used to walk through the neighborhood as a field trip. And then we’d go to a few of the houses (usually someone in the class who lived in the neighborhood) sing a christmas carol, and then we’d get cookies ;p

This year, I convinced a friend of mine to walk through the neighborhood with me. Thanks for going with me Brian!

Anyways, here are some pictures!

Now, thats my kind of house.. Some Joy and a martini. (Ok, I don’t actually like martinis, but you get the point ;p)

Brian and Me. A cut out of elf on someone’s lawn.

Walking through the neighborhood really made me want to own a home and do this to my house. And then get my whole neighborhood to do it ;p

Brobertos — Opening Soon — San Diego, CA

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

Brobertos is opening this week!

The Menu.

I had the privilege of tasting (ok, more like scarfing down) their steak BROrito, chicken BROrito, and cheese case-a-dilla.

I’m seriously going to get fat off of these BRO-ritos, seeing as it is opening right above F6ix.

Mt. Soledad October 2011 — San Diego, CA

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

It was the first time I went to Mt. Soledad. (I know, I’m a born and raised San Diegan, and I haven’t been anywhere!)

I needed some night shots for my new project, so I decided to head up to Mt. Soledad.

So these are night shots!

The cross

The view

I took these around 7 pm, it’s been getting dark earlier in the day, so I feel a little bit safer being out at night.

I need to take more night shots around the city

Gaslamp view from the Andaz Hotel — San Diego, CA

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

I have always wanted to take night photos of the view of the Gaslamp (downtown San Diego) from the roof of the Andaz Hotel (formerly known as the Ivy Hotel).

So I was in downtown taking photos of something else. And since I had my camera on me, I figured I should take the opportunity.

So I asked the general manager if I could go in and take a few pictures of the view from the roof. So that way I had permission, and if anyone asked me what I was doing I could say that I already got permission to be up there taking photos. :)

So I got permission, but then I didn’t want to be that 1 random person who’s on the roof by themselves (minus the staff) before it opened climbing on the couches trying to take photos above the glass window pane. So I just took a few photos with the glass.

Sorry for the reflections, but I really didn’t want to be that 1 weirdo and have everyone wondering what the heck I was doing. Nor did I want to move the furniture for a better view and somehow fall and hurt myself.

I like view because you get to see Petco Park (where the Padres play) from a distance.  I wanted to take photos before baseball season ended so that way the ball park would be all lit up.

Some buildings looking towards Horton Plaza Mall.

That’s it.  This post was sort of short, and not that great.

But, I heard that taking photos from Petco Park and night actually has some good shots as well. I will have to try that one day :)

The Spanish Landing and the Star of India– San Diego, CA

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

Yay! I had a friend who texted me to go on a photo adventure today! It wasn’t me texting someone to go on one! :p

So I went with my friend Hannah, and someone she knows suggested that she should take pictures at The Spanish Landing. So, that’s where we decided to go. I google mapped it and it was near the Marina, so I suggested we go to the Marina as well.

Little did we know, there is nothing to really take pictures of at the Spanish Landing, except for the boats in the Marina!

Afterwards, we drove down Harbor Drive and decided to stop at the Star of India

Anthony’s, where my mom used to work! And where I used to run around when I was little.

Summer time moped.

Statue near the USS Midway

And then we ventured to logan heights for some churros. And of course it was closed. It opened at 5.. (it was only 3) As well as every where else we wanted to go and eat around that neighborhood. Epic Fail right there.

Anyways, hopefully I’ll take more pictures around San Diego!

San Diego Zoo Safari Park September 2011 — San Diego, CA

Sunday, September 18th, 2011

When did the Wild Animal Park change it’s name to San Diego Zoo Safari Park?

I realized I haven’t been there since elementary school!

So with animals, you have to be really patient. I spent 3 hours at the Safari Park and only stopped at a few exhibits. I should really get a membership to the Zoo and Safari Park.

Some birds.

Gorillas.

A type of Ape.

Lions

On the Safari Tram

Giraffes

Elephants

Animals love winking at me ;p

And last but not least, a photo taken from my iphone of me taking a photo of an elephant. Well, more like my camera on my tripod. (I really like instagram).

Hopefully I will be able to visit the Zoo and Sea World soon!

North Grove Guy Fleming Trail — Torrey Pines State Reserve — San Diego, CA

Monday, August 22nd, 2011

What’s the point of living in a beautiful city like San Diego if you don’t enjoy it?

Today I went on a small hike in Torrey Pines. I had never been before, so I wanted to check it out.

I went with my cousin Sam this morning, and we only had about an hour and a half, so we just took the first trail. The trail was pretty short, only 2/3 of a mile.

I took a picture of my cousin. Shhhh… Don’t tell him!

It was very calm and peaceful just staring out into the ocean.

It was a cloudy morning, so everything is a little bit hazy.

Look at those cliffs!

Back down to the beach.

I want to check out the other trails soon!

Central Park — New York

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

I left New York about a week or two ago. But I still have one more post!

The last full day, not only did I take photos of Baby Jacob (previous post) but in the morning I went to Central Park! I went with my sister, brother-in-law, and of course, the dogs.

I always feel bad when people hang out with me, because I lagg. I always stop and take pictures.

Some random kids playing with the mound of dirt.

Snuffles.

I wish I went out and took more photos, but there’s always more opportunities to go to New York! :)
