Kim Family Photo 2011 — San Diego, CA

Friday, December 30th, 2011

Even though I take family photos for tons of families, mine doesn’t have one (not unless you count the one we took at Costco when I was in middle school)

So our family did a quick family photo.  Yay for self timers!

Hopefully, we’ll do more family photos, and I’ll remember to bring my tripod and wireless remote so we’re not putting my camera on boxes and putting it on self timer ;p

Christmas 2011 with the Kim’s and the extended family — San Diego, CA

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

Christmas this year was at my parent’s house- with all the aunts, uncles, cousins, kids.

My dad cooking korean barbeque on the grill.

Don’t you love his apron?

David with Wiggles.

It’s actually pretty funny, Wiggles tried to bite his foot when he first came into the house. Then for the rest of the afternoon and night he would just chill next to him and hardly left his side.

Addy opening some presents!

Hugs for the people who gave the present.

I will let you hug me.

But you, you get a high five.

Alyssa’s turn.

“It’s a little big, but I’ll grow into it” — I love the things that she says!

The present was from ‘everyone’ so she had to give everyone a hug.

Or more like, she let everyone hug her.

But she knew the present was really from Esther, and not from everyone. So Esther got the real hug.

“Merry Christmas Ha-mu-nee”

My aunt gave the married girls some towels she crocheted for the oven. I was kind of jealous.

Grandma got the single girls sweaters

Grandma got the boys socks

Addy had some fun with snuffles.

She’s trying to share her water with him. She also tried to poke him in the eye, actually, she did poke him in the eye. But I missed that one.

And I’ll leave you with one last picture.

Alyssa and Wiggles just chilling on the stairs.

We also played a few intense games of Harry Potter Uno ;p

I’m going to make everyone play it with me. haha

Christmas Morning 2011 with the Kims (and Wangs) — San Diego, CA

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

Christmas morning at the Kim residence (my parent’s place) we had an ‘american’ breakfast.

Homemade french toast for everyone except for me. I got regular toast due to my egg ‘allergies’. (My mom also made the bread!)

We usually don’t do a christmas tree (after me and my sister got old enough, my parents stopped doing trees), but because the whole extended family was coming over, my mom got a (small) tree.

Time for presents!

Grandma

 Mom

She got pretty excited over the cute wrapping paper (which she saved).

Dad

My family is pretty impatient. The Keurig got taken out of the box immediately.

Esther

Again, impatient. She had to try everything on.

Daniel

That’s the expression I was looking for.

The box is a target brand duster. Obviously, I didn’t get him a duster, but put other things in ti.

Me

I love envelopes!

Uhmm… Did anyone else notice my sister getting Burberry Rain Boots from my parents, and me getting a toothbrush??

I’ll have some more photos from the rest of christmas in the next post!

Christmas Card Lane 2011 — San Diego, CA

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

If you’re from Rancho Penasquitos, you’ve have to have been to Christmas Card Lane at least once in your life. And if you’re from San Diego, you’ve probably heard of it.

What is Christmas Card Lane? It’s a neighborhood in Rancho Penasquitos (in San Diego, CA) where almost all the houses in the neighborhood are decorated.

I remember in elementary school, we used to walk through the neighborhood as a field trip. And then we’d go to a few of the houses (usually someone in the class who lived in the neighborhood) sing a christmas carol, and then we’d get cookies ;p

This year, I convinced a friend of mine to walk through the neighborhood with me. Thanks for going with me Brian!

Anyways, here are some pictures!

Now, thats my kind of house.. Some Joy and a martini. (Ok, I don’t actually like martinis, but you get the point ;p)

Brian and Me. A cut out of elf on someone’s lawn.

Walking through the neighborhood really made me want to own a home and do this to my house. And then get my whole neighborhood to do it ;p

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party 2011 — San Diego, CA

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

My roommates decided to throw a holiday party and the theme- Ugly Christmas Sweaters.

I was really sad I couldn’t fly out to New York this past month and help host my sister’s Annual Holiday Cookie Decorating Party.

Anyways, I got to go to the Ugly Christmas sweater party for a little bit before I had to head off to work. I tried to look for ugly christmas sweaters by going to The Goodwill, The Salvation Army, and Thrift Stores. I couldn’t find one. As I was looking through the stores, I realized that they have really good deals on books! I found at least 1 book at each store that I wouldnt have minded reading for under a dollar!

Ok anyways, here are some of the ugly sweaters (and their owners)

If you can’t tell.. These are the white elephant gifts.

And of course, boys playing Wii.

I can’t wait until Christmas! It’s only a few days away. This year we’re having it at my parent’s place instead of my aunts. It’s always nice to be around family :)

2012 New Years Resolution

Friday, December 16th, 2011

I never really make new years resolutions.

But I decided to make some for 2012.

- 365 project. Take a photo every day, post a photo every day (Even if it’s just with my camera phone and not my actual camera).

You can follow some of my randomness and random photos through instagram @chrissykimphotography. I just linked it to my twitter @chrissykimphoto.

I have a list of things/topics/subjects to take photos of. I’ve been looking at other peoples 365 project topics.

- Live a healthier lifestyle. If you don’t know me very well, I get very tired easily, and I sleep a lot. I went to the doctors the other day to make sure there’s nothing actually wrong with me. So hopefully, the results come back saying that I’m not anemic or that there’s anything actually wrong with me.

I also need to exercise, and eat more healthy.

I already try to eat healthy, but I really need to cut back on the Mexican food.

-Read a little bit each day. I need to schedule some time every day to read. I have a lot of books on my To Read list, and I need to make a dent in that list.

-Don’t stress over the little things. If you know me well, my body doesn’t handle stress very well.

I need to not take things too personal. (except when it comes to photography and editing).

A quote I found on pinterest — “Life is too short to stress yourself with people who don’t even deserve to be an issue in your life”.

-Travel. This past year, I was blessed to have lived in Korea, travel to China twice, and go to a few islands in the Philippines. I want to travel more, and explore the world a little bit more, even if it’s just within the United States.

I do want to go on a Safari trip in Africa **fingers crossed** It probably won’t happen in 2012, but hopefully it will sometime in my life.

Ok that’s really it. There’s no point in putting something I will not achieve, like losing weight and stuff like that :p

Just have to live positively in 2012 and be happy with what I’ve got!

Brobertos — Opening Soon — San Diego, CA

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

Brobertos is opening this week!

The Menu.

I had the privilege of tasting (ok, more like scarfing down) their steak BROrito, chicken BROrito, and cheese case-a-dilla.

I’m seriously going to get fat off of these BRO-ritos, seeing as it is opening right above F6ix.
