Crazy things happening, and a new project coming

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

So there has been some crazy things that have happened the past few days in my life and with the people I know.

Because my mind has been everywhere, while backing into my tandem garage, I hit my side mirror along the entrance wall. So my mirror was dangling, some of the hinges came off, and that silver hood part came off..

This was the first accident I had with my car. And of course, it had to be with myself Â

So I went to the auto body shop, the guy popped it back in.

He kept saying it was funny.

I told him-No, it’s not funny! It’s sad!

My side view mirror is no longer motorized. It is now a manual side view mirror.

So I’ve been fishing with an idea, and hopefully I can launch that idea by mid october. I can’t really tell you what it is, but hopefully it will be awesome! :)

Gaslamp view from the Andaz Hotel — San Diego, CA

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

I have always wanted to take night photos of the view of the Gaslamp (downtown San Diego) from the roof of the Andaz Hotel (formerly known as the Ivy Hotel).

So I was in downtown taking photos of something else. And since I had my camera on me, I figured I should take the opportunity.

So I asked the general manager if I could go in and take a few pictures of the view from the roof. So that way I had permission, and if anyone asked me what I was doing I could say that I already got permission to be up there taking photos. :)

So I got permission, but then I didn’t want to be that 1 random person who’s on the roof by themselves (minus the staff) before it opened climbing on the couches trying to take photos above the glass window pane. So I just took a few photos with the glass.

Sorry for the reflections, but I really didn’t want to be that 1 weirdo and have everyone wondering what the heck I was doing. Nor did I want to move the furniture for a better view and somehow fall and hurt myself.

I like view because you get to see Petco Park (where the Padres play) from a distance.  I wanted to take photos before baseball season ended so that way the ball park would be all lit up.

Some buildings looking towards Horton Plaza Mall.

That’s it.  This post was sort of short, and not that great.

But, I heard that taking photos from Petco Park and night actually has some good shots as well. I will have to try that one day :)

The Ladies of F6ix — September 2011 — San Diego, CA

Saturday, September 24th, 2011

I had the wonderful opportunity to take some photos of the Cocktail Servers and Bartenders of F6ix.

It was a long day of getting hair and make up done, and then of course, the photo shoot.

Here are my favorite photos from the day!

I’m currently working on a project I had with the girls from this shoot. Photoshop is the death of me. Hopefully I’ll have it done soon!

The Spanish Landing and the Star of India– San Diego, CA

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

Yay! I had a friend who texted me to go on a photo adventure today! It wasn’t me texting someone to go on one! :p

So I went with my friend Hannah, and someone she knows suggested that she should take pictures at The Spanish Landing. So, that’s where we decided to go. I google mapped it and it was near the Marina, so I suggested we go to the Marina as well.

Little did we know, there is nothing to really take pictures of at the Spanish Landing, except for the boats in the Marina!

Afterwards, we drove down Harbor Drive and decided to stop at the Star of India

Anthony’s, where my mom used to work! And where I used to run around when I was little.

Summer time moped.

Statue near the USS Midway

And then we ventured to logan heights for some churros. And of course it was closed. It opened at 5.. (it was only 3) As well as every where else we wanted to go and eat around that neighborhood. Epic Fail right there.

Anyways, hopefully I’ll take more pictures around San Diego!

San Diego Zoo Safari Park September 2011 — San Diego, CA

Sunday, September 18th, 2011

When did the Wild Animal Park change it’s name to San Diego Zoo Safari Park?

I realized I haven’t been there since elementary school!

So with animals, you have to be really patient. I spent 3 hours at the Safari Park and only stopped at a few exhibits. I should really get a membership to the Zoo and Safari Park.

Some birds.

Gorillas.

A type of Ape.

Lions

On the Safari Tram

Giraffes

Elephants

Animals love winking at me ;p

And last but not least, a photo taken from my iphone of me taking a photo of an elephant. Well, more like my camera on my tripod. (I really like instagram).

Hopefully I will be able to visit the Zoo and Sea World soon!

Missoni for Target 9/13/2011

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

So I’ve been waiting for Missoni for Target to come out! When I heard about the collaboration I got really excited.

I should have written the date in my calendar.

I tried going on Target’s website, but the site was down due to the high volume of traffic.

By the time I got to Target, around 1 pm there was nothing left for me to buy! I was so bummed!

Anyways, I took a few photos with my handy Iphone. I didn’t want to walk around the store with my SLR.

So here are a few things that were left.

Cardigans for little girls.

Comforter

Rain boots for girls.

Ballet flats for girls.

I wish they had these in my size! They were so cute!

I guess I will have to go to Target everyday to see when they are going to restock the Missoni For Target items!

Good thing I live within a 5 minute drive to a Target :)

I couldn’t let a trip to Target go to waste, so I bought a loofa.

San Diego Power Outage September 8, 2011 — San Diego, CA

Friday, September 9th, 2011

Wow. Yesterday, San Diego had some major power outage. I mean, we’ve had black outs before, but not for this long!

I got home a little bit after 3:30pm opened the garage door, parked my car. Then while I was closing the garage door, it just stopped. I was thinking what the heck? Are you kidding me? So I ran upstairs and checked my power box thing (?) and all the switches were turned on. Ok, whatever, I will leave my garage door open. There was no power to the whole house! I had just gotten a fan too. Are you kidding me? It was hot! Nothing was working, I figured hey, it’s just me, I’ll just wait it out a bit.

I take a short nap, I wake up sweating and hearing my name being yelled from outside. I look outside, no ones there. I must have been imagining things. So I try to go back to sleep. I hear my name again. It’s my roommate. She wants me to help her open the garage door more so she can park her car in the garage. I find out, it’s not just our house, it’s all of San Diego.

We had nothing to do. So we decided to go to the pool. Took a swim and read a magazine. (If you’re wondering what magazine, I read Glamour).

(Sorry, it’s a camera phone photo. But I do like the ap instagram because I look rustic looking photos).

We went back in before it got dark so we didn’t have to take a shower in the dark. I still ended up taking one in the dark because my bathroom doesn’t really get a lot of natural light in.

We decided to see if anything was open, because we needed candles before it got really dark. Nothing was open, big surprise. Good thing we have ways of getting things that we really need.

Then it got really dark, and we had nothing to do. We didn’t want to play board games by the candles because it was too hot. So we decided to make a trek outside around 8:30.

The options were go to a casino so we can eat, or drive up to Irvine.

We got about halfway up to Irvine and saw lights on in Oceanside. So we stopped at Oceanside and got some Mexican Food. Then drove back down. Lights were slowly starting to come back on.

We got home around 10:30 and our power was working, but a lot of people still didn’t have power.

That’s my story. What’s yours?

Oh, yeah, I realized, if a natural disaster happened, I would be very unprepared. I just had a case of water a can of soup. I guess I should go grocery shopping so I can be more prepared next time :/
