American Museum of Natural History — New York

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

Yay, another post of New York.

So I’ve been a bit of a home-body lately (even though it’s not my home).

Me and my sister decided to go to the American Museum of Natural History.

We ended up going through the side entrance- The Rose Center for Earth and Space

I wanted to take a photo of the main entrance, but it was under construction and all covered up, so I decided not to.

The inside.

On the floor, there were different weight scales so you can see how much you weigh on a certain planet, or star. I thought it was pretty cool.

Inside entrance from the main entrance.

Inside the dinosaur exhibits.

And that’s it :)

Top of the Rock — New York

Sunday, May 15th, 2011

Alright, So I’m going to be in New York for another 2 weeks. I’ve been kind of taking things slow and haven’t been doing too much touristy things. I figured once I had a leave date, that I would be more up to going out and enjoying the city, instead of staying at home watching episodes of 30 Rock.

So what encouraged me to go to the Top of the Rock? The show 30 Rock. Yes, lame I know..

In the Lobby getting ready to go up there are Swavorski crystals falling in the shape of the Rockefellar Building (upside down)

My sister.

Looking towards the Empire State Building

If it weren’t for the MetLife building, you would be able to see the Chrysler Building.

Looking towards Central Park.

In the elevator going back down to the ground floor looking up.

Yes, a clear top with a projector.

And in the beginning credits of 30 Rock here are some things you might notice.

I was trying to look for the bronzed man holding the ball, but I couldn’t find it.

Vacationing in New York Part 2 — Night Shooting — Manhattan, New York (Madison Square Park, Flat Iron Building)

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

I went night shooting around Madison Square Park. I don’t usually do night shoots, and I’m sad that I didn’t have my tripod with me. But hey, you deal with what you have right?

My concept was capturing movement.

Madison Square Park

Capturing images of the Flat Iron Building

A random street. It reminded me of Batman.

Scaffolding and building.

That’s it for now. Hopefully I’ll be going out more and taking some more photos!

Vacationing in New York Part 1 — Manhattan, New York (Hudson River, Chelsea Market, Highline Park)

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

So I got a new part time job! Whoo hoo! And no, it’s not in New York. But I had to visit New York and my sister before I started working. (If you wanted to know, I’m getting back into nightlife! I’ll be working the register at a new club opening in San Diego at the end of May called F6ix.)

Anyways, here are a few photos from my trip so far!

A view of the Hudson River

At Chelsea Market

At Highline Park. This park used to be old railway tracks.

Where the tracks meet.

It would be nice to sit up here and read a book.

Pretty random.

I like taking photos of random people looking at things.

View of a street.

Ok, well that’s it for now. Last night I went night shooting around Madison Square Park. So that will be then next post!!
