La Jolla Farms– San Diego

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

After going to Blacks Beach, I headed to La Jolla farms. The road nearby is called La Jolla Farms, I don’t really know what this area is called.

Walking towards the cliffs.

Amazing house! I want to live here!

I couldn’t go all crazy stalker mode because I only had my wide angle lens. It always happens to me, whenever I bring my zoom, I don’t need it. Whenever I don’t bring it, I need it.

I think I could just sit on the cliffs all day.

I should just bring a chair and a book with me next time and read.

Let me know if you have any suggestions of where I should visit next ;p

Blacks Beach — San Diego

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

So I’m born and raised from San Diego, and there are a lot of places that I haven’t been to yet. So I’m trying to discover San Diego and all of it’s goodness.

This post is of Blacks Beach. Basically the only beach in San Diego where you can sunbathe in the buff.

So it was really easy going down the cliff, but not so much going up.

Can you see the naked man?

Hello there mister patriotic squirrel.

The squirrel posing for my friend Sarah and not for me :/

hmm.. what’s wrong with this picture??

A crane?? Really random

I really wanna go para-gliding (? is that what it’s called?)

Hopefully I’ll have more San Diego adventures! haha

University of San Diego (USD) — San Diego, California

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

So it’s pretty nice having a friend who will go and take photos with you. Even if she’s not taking photos, she’ll still walk around and wait for you when taking photos.

Yesterday, me and my friend Sarah, decided to hit up USD– the University of San Diego. Its a private college here in San Diego, and I have never been on the campus. So we decided to go since we were driving near it.

I wish I went to a college that was really pretty. (Although, I have done a few photo shoots in the past at UCSD in the woods)

Inside the Immaculata Church.

A view from one of the buildings.

Ceilings.

I think if I had gone to USD I would have realized my passion for photography much sooner becaues the buildings are so much nicer ;p

Vacationing in Beijing — China (The Great Wall of China – Mutianyu)

Thursday, April 7th, 2011

So the main reason I wanted to go to Beijing was not only because I got a visa for 2 entries and I didn’t want to waste it, but because I wanted to visit the Great Wall!!!

Going to the Great Wall was on my bucket list. Ok, so I don’t really have a real bucket list but it’s a place I really wanted to see.

My friend Jason ordered me a car service. I paid 500 RMB to get driven around for the day. But basically all I did was get picked up, go to the Wall and then go back. But I definitely preferred doing that then trying to figure out public transportation and then being back by a certain time to catch the bus back. I definitely got to take my time and walk at my leisure. I walked on the wall for a good 3 hours. I also had a backpack full of drinks and snacks. Which I definitely recommend you bringing along as well if you ever decide to go :)

The part of the wall the I visited was the Mutianyu wall. This part of the wall is famous for its breathtaking scenic views. Next time I go to Beijing, I’ll try to hit up a different part of the wall.

So I’m not going to comment or write anymore, so that you can just look at the photos (And because I suck at the commentary).

Thankfully there weren’t too many people at the wall :)

Ok, so well… That’s it from my vacation photos. Really. I promise. Because I didn’t go anywhere after Beijing :)

Vacationing in Beijing Part 2 — Beijing China (Tiananmen Square)

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

Tiananmen Square, you’ve probably heard of it right?

Have you ever been in China and tried to google it? The results are definitely not the same as what you get in the states. Especially if you image search it.

We had to go through security and put our bags through xray machines. AFter going through security to get into the square we walked towards the square.

And here we are.

Here’s Angela and Jason.

And me!

There were a good amount of people here, considering…

China Pride

I kind of wanted a flag myself. But I didn’t end up getting one.

A screen that shows a video, I think it was telling you to join the army. Not sure.

This is the outside of the Forbidden City. I actually ended up not going to it. Angela and Jason were telling me if you don’t even stop and just walk through and not even look at everything it takes a few hours. My trip was short, so I’ll go when I go back to Beijing :)

Jason pretending to be a paparazzi taking pictures (this one was the only one at a good angle ;p)

And then the escalator at one of the subway stations nearby Tiananmen Square. We were trying to figure out how to get back home, because there were no places to grab a taxi!

The next post will be the Great Wall of China! And it will be my last vacationing blog post for a while :)

Vacationing in Beijing Part 1 — Beijing, China

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

I know you guys were all excited when I posted my last Vacationing in the Philippines blog. But after the Philippines, I went to Beijing, China!

These were my hosts for the trip, Angela and Jason.

There will be a lot of pictures of them, because you know how I love candids!

So a lot of the places I went to, I don’t know what part of town I was in. I’m pretty sure they told me, and I just forgot.

Some random street with cute stores.

Do you want to ride one?

A guy painting on the street.

We weren’t exactly sure what this guy was doing. But he was walking around the place with his ‘pet’??

Getting a sweet potato to eat.

He weighed it old school style to see how much it would cost.

This guy writes stuff for you with his paint brush with water on the street.

Some lake place with restaurants (I’m really bad at this.. I should just figure out the names of all these places to be more accurate for you)

And there were a bunch of places where you could get giant cotton candy!

It looks like this girl is telling her boyfriend to get one for her..

We were really debating on if we should get one because everyone had one.

In the end, we decided not to, thinking it would spoil our appetites for dinner, but it looked sooo good!

A tandem bike on the road.

I really want to get a cute bike. ;p

The dogs in Beijing are different. They’re soo cute!

The next day we went near Tiananmen Square where there were some shops. (We also went to Tiananmen Square, but that will be the next blog post).

A slow moving train-type thing that takes you from one end of the shopping area to the other.

They saw me taking a picture so they waved.

There’s a lot of China pride. A lot of kids had flags in their hands.

We crossed the street so that we cold go to Tiananmen Square.

And my next blog post will be photos from inside Tiananmen Square :)

Jordan’s 1st Birthday Party — Garden Grove, CA

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011

Ok, so I know everyone is sick and tired of my vacation photos. Sooo now that I’m back in the states, I’m back to doing events!!

So I came back just in time to be the photographer at Jordan’s First Birthday Party! His mom Jenn is a family friend of mine.

It was a traditional asian first birthday- For koreans ‘dohl’

I love cute cakes!

This one was for Jordan to dip his fingers into and try to eat.

Here’s the birthday boy

Jordan with his parents

A cute family photo.

Jayden, the older brother is super cute. While taking photos he said “awkward”. And then from there, it got kind of awkward ;p

Jordan with one of Jenn’s friends.

So adorable with the hat!

Jayden’s pretty good at smiling for the camera

The kids got little goody bags that had play dough in it. They thought it would be a cool idea to put the play dough on their party hats.

Changing from the traditional Korean hanbok to a suit.

Getting ready for some cake!

Jayden’s totally ready to blow those candles out for his little brother.

I love my brother!

And now it’s time to figure out what Jordan’s future will be like.

There are items placed on the table which have some meaning to them about what is held in store for them in the future.

Jordan grabbed a calculator=he’s going to be smart.

And money = he’s going to be rich.

Chris (his dad) was really excited that his son was going to be rich. Jenn’s response to the high five? He’s going to be rich, not us!

Now its time for some cake!

Jordan didn’t cake cake all over him. I suggested they just smash his face into the cake. Chris and Jenn decided not to take my suggestion :/

I’m currently uploading all the photos from this event to Pictage (the online gallery host I use). Once it’s done and ready, guests and family and friends of this event can ask me for the link so they can see their faces :)

xoxo
